A traffic violator argues with an official during a special challan drive at Bharat Nagar Chowk in Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, July 12 - In a special drive, the city traffic police challaned over 200 offenders at Bharat Nagar Chowk. ADCP (Traffic) Sukhpal Singh supervised the entire drive and did not let any violator pass without facing the penalty. During this drive, three women riding in a car jumped the red lights and they were stopped by the traffic police. Instead of paying the penalty, the women started exchanging heated arguments with the cops. In the meantime, the ADCP (Traffic) also arrived and the women started arguing with him as well. Interestingly, when the ADCP warned them that he would recommend registration of an FIR for misbehaving with cops on duty, the women paid the penalty and left. The traffic police officials' main focus was checking violators jumping traffic lights, mainly two-wheelers. They said the drive would continue in future as well.
