State leaders Pay Tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his 149th Birth Anniversary

Paying tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his 149th birth anniversary , state minister for industries Mr. Sunder Sham Arora today said that we all should make our younger generation aware of lives, struggle and the philosophy of our freedom fighters so that they can contribute in fulfilling the dreams of these great icons who sacrificed their lives for the country.

Addressing the state level function organised by the state government at historic land of Jallianwala Bagh to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti here today Mr. Arora said that state government led by Captain Amarinder Singh today organised 90 camps under Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojana in Punjab to provide government services to the common people at their doorsteps to celebrate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in a unique manner.

The Cabinet Minister Mr. Arora also paid tributes to former Prime Minister Mr. Lal Bahadur Shashtri and motivated the youth to follow the path shown by these great leaders for creating the society in line with the ideals of peace,brotherhood and harmony. He said that the political leaders should also work hard for the upliftment of the weaker sections of society and by doing so they can pay real tributes to the freedom fighters.

On the occasion Mr. Arora also red out the message of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to appeal the people to follow the teachings and principles of Mahatma Gandhi. He also paid tributes at freedom fighters'memorial and at the statute of Shaheed Udham Singh on the occasion.

       in his address Member Parliament Mr. Gurjeet Singh Aujala emphasized for focussing on primary education in the country to pave the way for prosper future of India. He also said that the more efforts must be done to aware the coming generations about the principles and teachings of our freedom fighters. City Mayor Mr. Karamjit Singh Rintu also paid tributes to the freedom fighters in his address.

           MLA Mr. Raj Kumar Verka, Sunil Datti, and Tarsem Singh, senior leader Sukhjinder Raj Singh Lali Majithia, Mrs. Mamta Dutta, Mr. Jugal kishore Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kamaldeep Singh Sangha, Police Commissioner Mr. S.  Srivastava, Director Tourism Punjab Mr. Malwinder Singh Jaggi. Senior Deputy Mayor Mr. Raman Bakhshi and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
