LONDON - The first British will be handed the old blue passport again next week. The British Minister of the Interior Priti Patel announced that the British travel document will again be given the "iconic" blue color from March. That was one of the requirements during the Brexit campaign. Halfway through this year, all newly issued passports must be blue again, reports The Evening Standard.

The British received the same burgundy passport since 1988 as other EU residents.

With the departure from the European Union, however, the identity documents do retain a European touch. They are made by a Dutch-French company and manufactured in a factory in Poland. In the United Kingdom, however, the personal details are put in the documents.
